What are the textbooks and prereading?

Many students feel that they would like to get started on their reading before the semester begins. The modules in the Psychological Studies program covers a wide range of topic area, the University does not suggest a set text for each module; instead there will be recommended books and journals listed in each module handbook. You may also check up on the lecture materials, which will be available 2 weeks before the module begins.

It is also advised that you do the following to help prepare for your course:

• Either continue, or get into the habit of, reading a serious newspaper and following news and current affairs programmes on the radio - you will find a number of your subjects easier if your general knowledge is sound.
• Take any opportunity to improve on your computer/technological abilities. You will need to be capable of word-processing your work and using spreadsheets.
• Take time to read up on SPSS - a key statistical program that is used plenty in this program. Get a headstart by reading/watching Youtube videos about the program and how it functions.
