A resit is defined as an additional attempt of an assessment without attendance of lessons. When a student fails an assessment, there is one automatic resit.
For resit, the mark is capped at the passing mark (50%). If a student fails a resit, the Academic Board has the discretion to permit the student to retake the module.
A student may only retake a module once. A fee of $500 (without GST) will be required per component failed.
E.g. HR Business Partnering
Literature Review - 64/100
Essay - 36/100
As the student as failed the essay component, they will need to pay a fee of $500 (without GST) and then retake the essay again. It will usually be the same question/assessment. Students should take note not to self-plagiarize by reusing their previous assignment for this retake.
