Assessment Mode: Coursework vs examination
Both Examination and coursework assessment have their merits.
Examinations are typically more suitable for undergraduate programme where students are assessed based on their ability to understand the theory and the foundation.
Coursework are written or practical work done by students during a course of study. For adult learner, coursework can be a very efficient way of assessing students’ work since it offers students more opportunities to improve their skills and competency by assessing them based on their ability to apply what they know to actual business scenario Coursework gives students more opportunities for knowledge to be fairly assessed. It allows students to improve their integrated skills and motivates them to discuss different topics, express themselves and gain flexibility. For these reasons, most of our assessment for Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree are assessed based on coursework rather than examination.
